Heated by breathtaking cheerdances, blaring yells, unstoppable spikes, smashes and lay-ups, the 2011 AC Intramurals quaked the AC grounds with the theme” Raising the Banners of Excellence Through Sports”, last October 10-12.
Despite the scorching heat of the sun, all ACians gathered and paraded around the town proper 7:30 a.m. lead by the Solano PNP Force followed by all athletic contingents, Midget, Junior, and Senior Division with the float of the newly crowned Miss Solano, Miss Niña Katherine Gambo and Runner up Miss Aiza Labog with the AC elementary and High School bands,
The opening ceremony started with a prayer led by Mrs. Prescilla A. Soriano, Senior Executive Assistant for Education (SExAE) and the singing of the National Anthem, AC March a well as Vizcaya March. All team muses and captains raised their banners followed by the opening remarks of the DSA, Mr. Jenifer Raymond Tallungan.
The relay and lighting of the torch of sportsmanship and the proclamation of the formal opening of the Intramural Meet 2011 highlighted the ceremony with the presentation of Mr. & Ms Campus Personality candidates and the ceremonial tossing of the ball by Miss AC 2011 Meryl Joyce Graneta.
The quadrangle soon resonated with the loud cheers of spectators when the cheerdance competition started with two teams competing in the elementary, the Tigers and the Wolverines; and the four teams of the high school Fighting Zebras, Thunder Hounds, War Hawks and the Wild Stallions. Dancesport competition among college students as well as the high school followed which generated shrilling applause from the throng.
Athletic competitions started in the afternoon and all the remaining days of the intramurals despite the unpredictable weather.#kid/Mjjt
