To prepare the teachers for the year round mentoring, a seminar-workshop was held at the Audio-Visual Room last June 2-5, enthemed: “Aldersgate College: Developing a Culture of Academic Excellence.”
Participated by all teachers from elementary to college, the seminar-workshop started at 8:00 am with the elementary school principal, Mrs. Luz Gasmin‘s lecture on Principles, Strategies, Techniques and Approaches in Teaching and Art of Questioning which covered the whole morning of the first day. In the afternoon, Mrs. Rizalyn Esquivel, an instructor of the College of Arts, Sciences and Education (CASE) lectured on Teaching Learning Styles, Multiple Intelligences while Mrs. Debora Sampaga of the same college discussed the Preparation and Use of Instructional Materials. An open forum followed every session.
On the second day, Mrs. Rosalie Valdez, the Acting Dean of the CASE lectured on the Guidelines in Test Construction, Mr. Jenifer Raymond Tallungan, Press Information Officer, on the other hand, lectured on the Preparation of Instructional Modules. Open forum and workshop were done in the afternoon.
The third day was devoted for the preparation of modules which were then set to powerpoint program for demonstration by a chosen teacher from each of the departments. This was the highlight of the four-day seminar- workshop. On the other hand, Dr. Romeo Bicad, the Dean of the College of Business & Information Technology updated the trainees the trends in education, followed by the Faculty Orientation on New Policies by Mrs. Prescilla Esperanza Maddela, the Senior Executive Assistant for Education.
The program ended with the awarding of certificates and collection of outputs. #
