To support DepEd program on ecology, Aldersgate College Science High School participated the Youth for Environment School Organization (YES-O) Camp held in Bagabag National High School on September 17-18, 2011.
This program through the leadership of Mrs. Evelyn C. Apuya, Education Program Supervisor I of Science (Secondary), highlighted activities which were carried out to attain the YES-O mandates include conduct of school-based YES-O camp; tree planting and growing; solid waste management and entrepreneurship; watershed protection and conservation; and community outreach.
The Aldersgate College Science High School defied what it takes to be a greenhorn after excelling in the various contested activities of the Provincial Youth for Environment School Organization (YES-O)
The two-day activity was aptly enthemed “Ako ay Handa” to equip the students with knowledge and skills on climate change adaptation and disaster preparedness.
The AC delegation to this division tilt reaped the awards: 2nd place in Debate (Celene Angeli Dumaguing, Margaret Golda Tabuan and Margaret Saquing ); 4th place in Doku Kalikasan (Celene Angeli Dumaguing, Andell Jan Almendra and Wrixi Vynne Arzadon); 3rd runner-up, Mr. Wit, Best in Talent nominee, Best in Kalikasan Attire nominee, in the Search for Lakan ng Kalikasan (Virgilio Ssantos III); Ms. Wit nominee in the Search for Lakambini ng Kalikasan (Celene Angeli Dumaguing); 4th place in Speech Choir; and 5th place in YES-O Exhibit.
The victors were trained by the ACSHS principal, Dr. Divina Gracia B. Apolonio and faculty members headed by the Science Department Head, Mrs. Cathelyn C. Mariano, together with Mrs. Felicidad Furigay, Mrs. Annabelle Leabres, Mrs. Curie Palattao, Mrs. Lainely Casta?eto Mrs. Norinyl Clemor and Mrs. Patricia Ortiz. Mr. Jenifer Raymond Tallungan, DSA served as the critique and Mr. Rodel Balallo assisted in the technical preparation. .# AndellJan24/Mjjt
