Thirty (30) PICPAns from the different sectors and some 115 members of the Junior Philippine Institute of Accountants of Aldersgate College and Saint Mary’s University attended the occasion. Mr. Jessie G. Chua, a PICPA-NV Chapter scholar from high school to college, was invited to share his experiences.  He passed the October 2007 CPA Board Examinations and is now working in Manabat, Delgado, Amber and Co., an auditing firm in Makati. Chua challenged and at the same time inspired the JPIAns with his message.  With Chua’s success story, the incoming chapter president would like to revive the scholarship program and help poor but deserving students to realize their dreams of becoming Certified Public Accountants.

Keynote speaker and inducting officer, Cleofe L. Flores, likewise challenged the CPAs to uphold the integrity of the profession by continually striving to upgrade their level of competence and to perform their respective duties and responsibilities with utmost care and diligence.  On the other hand, Gloria P. Valdez, President, emphasized the three major thrusts of PICPA this year, namely: Solidarity, Service and Social responsibility.

With the unified actions of the members, incumbent officers and past presidents, the occasion was a resounding success.
