AC, ICA-J, Japan Platform Typhoon Relief Project I
Aldersgate College and Institute of Cultural Affairs: Japan (ICAJ) implemented a Typhoon Ondoy Relief Project funded by Japan Platform in Pasig City from October 22-29.
One hundred(100) evacuee-families at the Old Pasig city Capitol received relief goods composed of blankets, towels, underwears for women and children, water and groceries on October 27. And one thousand five hundred (1,500) families who are residents of Barangay Pinagbuhatan in Pasig City, which is still flooded one month after the typhoon, were given relief goods the next two days.
The project implementation was conducted by Shizuyo Sato, Director of ICA Japan and Masaru Tamura, International Project Manager. The Aldersgate College project team was led by Junifen F. Gauuan (College President), Marlene C. Cadang (Director-CREATE), and Carmencita G. Mendoza(Superintendent-ACCC). Volunteer leaders and workers from Pasig City as well as the support staff of Aldersgate College provided reliable and effective support to the project activities.
Those who participated in relief distribution included Shigehiro Matsuda, third Secretary of the Economic Section of the Embassy of Japan; Mrs. Francisca Delleva, Pasig City Social Work and Development Officer; and the wife of Pasig City Mayor Bobby Eusebio.
