Our unique and highly supportive learning environment prepares our students to hurdle the intricacies of the Elementary and Secondary Education courses, giving them a chance to acquire a wide array of multidisciplinary skills which are demonstrated in a favorable passing rate in the Licensure Examination for Teachers (LET).

Mission

The College of Arts, Sciences and Education will develop professionals in the fields of Education, Languages and the Social Sciences, capable of providing dedicated and excellent services to their constituent students and trainees in a multi-national and multi-cultural work setting.

Program Goals & Objectives

1. Have the basic and higher level literacy, communication, numeracy, critical thinking, and learning skills needed for higher learning
2. Have a deep and principled understanding of the learning processes and the role of the teacher in facilitating these processes in their students.
3. Have a deep and principled understanding of how educational processes relate to larger historical, social, cultural, and political.
4. Have a meaningful and comprehensive knowledge of the subject matter they will teach
5. Can apply a wide range of teaching process skills in curriculum development, lesson planning, materials development, educational assessment, and teaching approaches.
6. Have direct experience in the field or classroom through classroom observations, teaching assistance, and practice teaching
7. Can demonstrate and practice the professional and ethical requirements of the teaching profession.
8. Can facilitate learning of diverse types of learners, in diverse types of learning environments, using a wide range of teaching knowledge and skills.

Can reflect on the relationships among the teaching process skills, the learning process among students, the nature of content or subject matter, and the broader social forces encumbering the school and educational process in general in order to improve their teaching knowledge, skills, and practices.

Curricular Strategy

Since its inception in 1965, the College of Arts, Sciences, and Education has developed progressive curricula that incorporate a creative interface between theory and practice.

In science teaching, this strategy is accomplished using laboratories and multi-media resources that are continually upgraded to accommodate cutting-edge topics in science, such as robotics and automation, fiber optics and laser, solar power, electricity, astronomy, biology, health, and microbiology.

In regards to strategies and methods of teaching, student teachers learn through practice teaching conducted in the laboratory schools of Aldersgate College, inside its campus, and off-campus, in affiliated private and public schools.

To achieve its research objectives, the College of Arts, Sciences, and Education is integrating the teaching improvement activities for language and education into the research agenda of other development units within Aldersgate College. These are the Integrated Child Development Center (ICDC), Aldersgate College Global Outsourcing Center (ACGOC), and Aldersgate Computer Institute (ACI).

This integration facilitates the active involvement of all faculty members in educational and language research such as those being implemented in the areas of English Language Proficiency, Child Education, Remedial Teaching, Test and Measurement, and Computer-Aided Education.

The Bachelor of Arts in Church Management (ABCM) program shall become a model curriculum for quality education and training for pastors providing strong Biblical foundations in doing the mission and ministry of the church.

PROGRAM MISSION

The Bachelor of Arts in Church Management (ABCM) program will produce principled and well-rounded servant-leaders, who are committed and can effectively minister to the Gospel for the social and spiritual transformation of the church and society.

PROGRAM EDUCATIONAL OBJECTIVES

Graduates of Bachelor of Bachelor of Arts in Church Management are Pastors who:

1. Have knowledge of the Bible and uses hermeneutical principles in interpreting and applying the Bible.
2. Have the commitment to do a mission and effectively communicate the Gospel for the transformation of the world.
3. Have a sound spiritual life and a holistic Christian character, committed to God’s mission for the world.
4. Can competently lead and serve in the various ministries and programs of the church both locally and globally.
5. Have the knowledge, skills, and ability to think critically and to interact respectfully with the views of others.
6. Have an understanding of the mission and purpose of the church and relate it to their unique role and calling as ministers of the Gospel.
7. Have a grasp of history as well as the current religious, social, political, and economic issues that can be a basis for relating to people and in doing the ministry.
8. Have a direct and well-rounded experience in church management and in the implementation of programs and activities through their weekend church appointments and outreach services and activities.
