With raging spirit and soaring enthusiasm, students, and employees of Aldersgate College gathered at the AC quadrangle to memorialize the opening of Intramurals 2012 with the theme” Defining who we were, Defining who we are and who we wish to be “, last September 24.
Despite the scorching heat of the sun, ACians unified in a parade around the town at 8:00 a.m. led by the Solano PNP Force followed by all athletic contingents, Midget, Junior, and Senior Division and the Elementary as well as the High School band.
The opening ceremonies focused on the raising of contingent banners by the captain ball and muse of each team, the oath of amateurism by all athletes, the ceremonial tossing of the ball, the relay and lighting of the torch of sportsmanship by the team managers, the Athletic Director, Mr. Emerson Castañeto and the AC president Dr. Junifen F. Gauuan.
The quadrangle soon resounded with the loud cheers of the throng when the cheer dance competition started with the four teams of the college participating; the SERPENTS of the of the School of Medical Sciences(SMS) and the College of Engineering and Technology (CET); the RAPTORS of the College of Arts, Sciences and Education (CASE) with the School of Criminology (SC); the TYCOONS of the College of Business and Accountancy (CBA) and the PHOENIX of the School of Informatics and Hospitality Management (SIHM). The competition ended as the Raptors settled as champion gaining them a shrilling applause from the spectators.
The Arnis and Taekwondo Clubs of the elementary and high school astounded the crowd with their sizzling and awesome exhibition that showed their prowess in poomse and self defense. The participants in taekwondo who started their training last summer are currently enrolled in the school’s taekwondo program under the initiative of the elementary school principal Mr. Rommel Alejos. Though considered greenhorn in the field, most of them were medalist in the Luzon Taekwondo Championship held recently at Solano.
The unfailing weather favored the athletic competition that lasted for four days. It concluded with the Closing and Awarding Ceremony with the Raptors as the overall champion of the Senior Division, the Stallions of the Junior Division and the Tigers of the Midget Division. /Mjjt/

Students of the Aldersgate College Tec-Voc Courses once again proved that ACians are never outdone both in academics and in technical skills. Two of them emerged winners in the 5th Provincial Skills Competition spearheaded by TESDA, last September 13,14, 2011 at NVSU, Bambang Campus.
The series of activities were participated in by twenty (20) Technical-Vocational Institutions (TVI’s) in Nueva Vizcaya.
Sixto Quiming, BSEE-3, was declared Champion in Electrical Installation & Maintenance, and he will represent the province in the Regional Skills Competition. He was coached by Angelito G. Capuno, CET Tec-Voc Coordinator.
Don Benson Sententa, BSCE-3 emerged 2nd Place in Computer Aided Drafting. His coach was Mr. Albert Cahilig.
A motorcade followed by an opening program commenced the 2-day program, and was highlighted by the competitions in various categories: Computer Aided Drafting (CAD), Electrical Installation & Maintenance, Web Design, and IT Applications.
